In my artistic practice, I draw inspiration from nature and biology, exploring themes of transformation and vulnerability. I am fascinated by the interplay of light and shadow, using subtle textures and forms to convey a mortal history. My pieces aim to evoke a sense of mystery and wonder, inviting viewers to contemplate the beauty and complexity of the natural world. Through my work, I seek to create a visual language that speaks to the profound connections between humanity and the environment, encouraging introspection and empathy.

In my art, I aim to create a space for viewers to find peace and connection. Like a willow tree with branches that offer shade and a place to play, my art provides a respite from the demands of life. It invites the viewer to get lost in colors and movement, to breathe deeply, slow down, and let their imagination play.

I have never been an artist who is defined by one specialty. I find as much joy in drawing a landscape as in sculpting an imaginary forest creature out of modeling clay.

My ceramics are meant to be touched. A combination of glazed and raw surfaces invites the aesthete to hold and feel the rough and smooth textures of the majority functional wares.

M. Dailey is a ceramic artist and block printer who has called Council Bluffs home since 2018, Omaha before that in 2013. Before arriving in the midwest, life and jobs placed one in CA, MN, AZ, Wash D.C., PA, Mexico, and Tokyo. M.'s first formal education in the arts began in darkroom photography and studio art while attending University of Arizona, Tucson. By and by, art practice was traded for a turn into business and travel. Recently M. has been able to properly apply and practice art and polish craftsmanship.

Anna Stoysich is a place-based ceramic artist and illustrator living in Malvern, IA. Her work is created in response to her observations of nature, especially of the Loess Hills landscape, the tall grass prairie, and wetlands biomes. She holds a BFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2002). She spent the following 12 years working throughout the United States and abroad. She was a resident at the Archie Bray Foundation, studio assistant at Penland School of Craft and apprenticed to ceramic artist, Chris Gustin, in South Dartmouth, MA. She also was a Montessori teacher in rural North Carolina and Mexico. Most recently, she was an artist in residence at Waubonsie State Park and Whiterock Conservancy. In 2020 and 2021, she was awarded grants from the Iowa Arts Council. She is currently working on a community based tile mural project in Malvern, IA.
